Welcome to my first post here on Security Hazard! Here’s one to share with your fellow Gerry Anderson fans. A series of questions all about what you love about the Gerry Anderson universe – and some things you’re not so keen on. More in-depth articles are coming soon with reviews, reports and general musings, but this is just a chance for you to get to know me, and perhaps have a guess at what you can expect to see on this blog. These are my favourites or least favourites rather than what I consider best or worst as they’re not always the same thing.

Favourite Thunderbird?
Thunderbird 3 (because size matters)
Favourite Spectrum Agent?
Captain Magenta (CS&TM) Captain Ochre (NCS)
‘I Wish I Was A Spaceman’ or ‘Aqua Marina’?
Aqua Marina (because the singer is marginally less of a jerk)

Favourite Thunderbirds episode?
Let’s say City of Fire just to be different.
Least favourite Thunderbirds episode?
Oooh, ummm, Give or Take a Million, no rescues in it, innit?
Thunderbirds Are Go (1966) or Thunderbird 6 (1968)?
TB6, by a whisker
Two words to describe the live action Thunderbirds movie (2004)?
NEEDS SEQUEL!!!
Two words to describe the new Thunderbirds Are Go (2015) series?
Totally Awesome
Favourite Gerry Anderson vehicle?
Crablogger, or possibly the Magnacopter
Favourite quote?
“The City of Los Annnnngel-es”
Gerry Anderson guilty pleasure?
There’s no such thing as a guilty pleasure, if you get pleasure from it, by definition, you’re not getting guilt. If you mean “what do most people think is awful that I enjoy?”, then probably the aforementioned 2004 film
Least favourite Gerry Anderson series/film/project?
Twizzle, it really doesn’t do anything for me, and that’s stretching it…
Favourite Gerry Anderson character?
Don’t make me choose dang it! Probably Virgil Tracy…
Favourite Gerry Anderson series/film/project?
Constantly changing, but I guess it all comes back to Thunderbirds in the end because that’s the first one I saw.

Favourite Thunderbird?
Thunderbird 2. Big, powerful, and so useful!
Favourite Spectrum Agent?
Colonel White. He has a sense of humor under that tough, commanding exterior, yet can and will put his foot down as necessary.
‘I Wish I Was A Spaceman’ or ‘Aqua Marina’?
“I Wish I Was A Spaceman” is catchier.
Space: 1999 Year 1 or Year 2?
Oh year 1, definitely.
Your first encounter with a Gerry Anderson series/film/project?
I first caught a glimpse of Thunderbirds on the now-defunct TechTV channel back in 2003, and watched because 1) It had little popup infobites added to it, and I’m a sucker for those, and 2) I wanted to figure out how the animated the puppets’ mouths. By the time I got my answer, I was hooked.
Favourite merchandise item(s) you own?
The Complete Gerry Anderson Episode Guide by Chris Bently.
Money no object – one merchandise item you’d love to own?
The Filmed in Supermarionation Blu-ray.
Space Police or Space Precinct?
I haven’t seen Space Police yet.
Mars Invaders – The Mysterons (Captain Scarlet) or Zelda (Terrahawks)?
Zelda by far! She has so much more personality!
Favourite Thunderbirds episode?
The Uninvited.
Least favourite Thunderbirds episode?
I’m going to go with Mr. Clements on this one and say Give or Take a Million. And to add insult to injury, that was the last episode of the series.
Thunderbirds Are Go (1966) or Thunderbird 6 (1968)?
Thunderbirds Are Go. It didn’t have quite as bad a filler issue as Thunderbird 6.
Two words to describe the live action Thunderbirds movie (2004)?
No thanks.
Two words to describe the new Thunderbirds Are Go (2015) series?
Not bad.
Favourite Gerry Anderson vehicle?
Hoo boy…I guess the Skydiver from UFO, if only because a submarine/jet fighter is such a unique concept. Runners up would be the Hawkwing because it’s the prettiest Anderson vehicle, and the Paradox because it’s a flying English cottage.
Favourite quote?
“I would suggest that the next words out of your mouth form the most spectacularly convincing explanation of your entire life, Yung-Star, because if they do not, my stick and your nose are going to have short, sharp, violent difference of opinion!”-Zelda, from the Terrahawks audio episode “Timesplit”. Denise Bryer’s quietly furious delivery is what really sells it.
Gerry Anderson guilty pleasure?
Space Precinct. Subpar writing, mediocre-to-godawful acting, predictable, and one episode had one of the most poorly developed romances I’ve ever seen, but darned if I’m not enjoying every minute of it.
Least favourite Gerry Anderson series/film/project?
The Secret Service. None of the characters aside from Father Unwin were that memorable or interesting, the episodes were pretty dull (but then, I don’t really care for epsionage stuff anyway) and although his “gobbledegook” was Unwin’s thing, the writers insisted on putting it in every episode to the point were it was obviously shoehorned in.
Favourite Gerry Anderson character?
Either Brains from Thunderbirds, or Lt. Hawkeye from Terrahawks. Both super nice guys, yet we don’t know all that much about either of them.
Favourite Gerry Anderson series/film/project?
Terrahawks! Thunderbirds, Stingray, and UFO all tie for a VERY close second!
