Ep 47 – Sylvia Anderson’s Greatest Roles

In addition to her numerous creative contributions at AP Films and Century 21, Sylvia Anderson also voiced characters in every Supermarionation show from Supercar to The Secret Service. From young Jimmy Gibson, to the iconic Lady Penelope from Thunderbirds, to many memorable guest roles, we’ll be running through some of Sylvia Anderson’s most distinguished performances.

  1. BRAVO for addressing the talents and contributions to the world of Supermarionation by Sylvia Anderson.

It is Gerry Anderson’s name which is in the forefront of Supermarionation and with good reason. However, I have often felt that when Mr. Anderson was lauded for his work, all too often Sylvia Anderson seemed to have been left out. Yes, their marriage failed, but that doesn’t take away from her creativity and hard work which, as I understand it, also included an important level of social/emotional support given to all of the folks working in the various departments that brought these television programs to we, very, very lucky young (at that time) people.

BRAVO to you for recognizing her work and BRAVO to Ms. Anderson herself for her great work.

    Thank you.
