Ep 63 – The Launching vs. Touch of the Reaper

The original Captain Scarlet episode THE LAUNCHING goes up against New Captain Scarlet’s TOUCH OF THE REAPER! We’ll be comparing these two menacing Mysteron threats from the 1967 Supermarionation series and Gerry Anderson’s 2005 CGI remake. In The Launching, Spectrum work to protect President Roberts in the ultimate Mysteron misdirection, while Touch of the Reaper sees Scarlet and the team battle a horrific virus spread by touch that leads them to Air Force One.

Ep 62 – Supercar: Rescue

Supercar blasts off from Black Rock for the very first time in the series’ pilot episode, RESCUE! Jack and Ben are all set to review the tale of how youngster Jimmy Gibson and his pet monkey, Mitch, came to join Mike Mercury and the Supercar team. How will the marvel of the age hold up all these years later?

Ep 61 – The Uninvited

Jack and Ben follow Scott into the desert of danger to review the classic Thunderbirds episode, THE UNINVITED. From Thunderbird 1 facing an attack from the Zombites to Lindsey and Wilson struggling for survival in the heat of the Sahara, this one is a fan favourite. Next stop, the Lost Pyramid of Khamandides!

Ep 60 – Moon Zero Two

In 1969, Hammer released their sci-fi western feature MOON ZERO TWO. Starring Space: 1999’s Catherine Schell, featuring space miniature effects, and set on a retro-futuristic moonbase, the movie certainly bears a resemblance to a Gerry Anderson production without actually being one. Jack and Ben are going to dive into the similarities between Moon Zero Two and the Anderson canon.

Ep 59 – Thunderbirds IR (Unmade 2005 Puppet Reboot Trailer)

A trailer for a new series of Thunderbirds appeared on the internet in 2005 promising brand new puppets, bold new vehicle designs, and a heap of action without strings. The series was never produced, and the trailer remains a tantalising glimpse at what might have been. Jack and Ben are preparing to dive deep into the Thunderbirds IR trailer and discuss what we like and dislike about this unexplored new direction for International Rescue.

Super Space Theater strikes again! We’re reviewing the INVASION: UFO compilation movie based on Gerry & Sylvia Anderson’s live action series, UFO. How will the editing technology and electronic music of 1980 cope with squeezing six, yes SIX, episodes of UFO into one feature length film?!
