Ep 48 – Unseen Captain Scarlet Special Guest Stars

Did you know that Gerry & Sylvia Anderson originally hoped to cast Patrick McGoohan (The Prisoner, Danger Man, Ice Station Zebra) as the World President in the pilot episode of Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons, and create a puppet with his likeness? This casting never came to be, but Jack and Ben are going to explore the origins of this idea to introduce special guest stars to Supermarionation, read rare original scripts extracts, discuss how it might have worked in other episodes of Captain Scarlet, and consider why it ultimately didn’t happen.
